Dianes Library Inc

A nonprofit organization

Diane’s Library was created to honor the life and legacy of Diane Williams — a beloved longtime educator in the Nashua School District, devoted mother and grandmother, and passionate advocate for children and literacy. Diane believed deeply that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and dream through the power of books.

After Diane passed away unexpectedly in 2021, her daughters chose to turn their love and grief into something meaningful: a living legacy that would continue Diane’s lifelong mission of nurturing young minds and helping children thrive.

Today, through our partnership with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, Diane’s Library mails free, high-quality, age-appropriate books each month to children from birth to age five across Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. What may seem like a simple book becomes so much more — bedtime stories, bonding moments, new words, imagination, confidence, and the foundation for a lifetime of learning.

Research consistently shows that early literacy plays a vital role in brain development, language acquisition, and kindergarten readiness. Yet far too many children grow up without books in the home.

Since launching in 2024, Diane’s Library has gifted more than 54,000 books to over 5,000 children across our community. For just $31, you can provide one child with an entire year of books and help build a home library that can change the trajectory of a young life.
