About Us

Friends of Canaan Village, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was formed in 1996. Our mission is to create opportunities and support for active participation in community projects and to promote a positive image and enhance the beauty of the village center. Our projects are focused on keeping the Canaan Village area welcoming to all who live in or visit the Town of Canaan.

What We are Fundraising For

Depot Park

Located off of the Northern Rail Trail and near Indian River, Depot Park is a charming park in which to enjoy the outdoors. The park provides a place to relax and is a gateway to downtown Canaan and all we have to offer - from Canaan Hardware to Poor House BBQ to the library and senior center - there is something for everyone in beautiful Canaan Village!

During NH Gives this year, we are raising funds to continue improvements to Depot Park and the surrounding areas. These improvements will provide a safe, engaging, and beautiful space for residents and visitors to enjoy. Whether people are taking a break from walking, running, or biking on the rail trail or using the park as a place to unwind and enjoy nature, we want all to feel welcome and at peace in this space.

The recently installed sign and replanted flowers at Depot Park make the space more inviting to everyone. Greenery, tables, and waste receptacles (amongst other exciting developments) help everyone more comfortably enjoy this space. Continued work on Depot Street, including regular pruning and care of the trees, enhance the aesthetic of the area surrounding Depot Park.
