Girls At Work Inc. empowers girls with tools, leaving them feeling confident and independent, with a strong sense of self. Our vision is a world where every girl feels confident.

We host seven weeks of after-school classes focused on woodworking for girls ages 8–14, as well as STEAM-focused after-school classes designed specifically for our middle school girls. In addition, we run seven weeks of our “Build Me Up Summer Camp,” which combines hands-on woodworking projects with engaging STEAM activities.

Approximately 95% of the girls who participate in our programs attend on full scholarships, so we strive to provide as much support as possible while they are with us. Each girl receives a brand-new pair of sneakers, a Girls at Work sweatshirt, and a backpack filled with school supplies. Every time they join us, they also take home grocery bags stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables to help support their families.

Our goal is not only to teach practical skills and build confidence, but to use the Socratic method to strengthen critical thinking and curiosity. By empowering girls in all aspects of their lives, we are empowering them for life.
