Since 1995, the Greater Nashua Prevention Coalition (GNPC), formally known as the Nashua Prevention Coalition (NPC), has been empowering youth to thrive by building a healthier, safer, and more connected community. Through prevention education, youth leadership, mental health support, and community collaboration, GNPC works to ensure young people have the tools, support, and opportunities they need to make healthy choices and reach their full potential.
For nearly 30 years, GNPC has partnered with schools, families, local organizations, law enforcement, healthcare providers, and community leaders to address substance misuse prevention, mental wellness, and youth empowerment throughout Greater Nashua. Our mission is rooted in prevention, connection, and hope — meeting young people where they are and helping them build resilience for the future.
Your support through NH Gives helps us continue providing impactful programs and resources that strengthen youth and families across our community.
Our Programs & Initiatives:
Lock It Up Campaign: Our Lock It Up campaign promotes safe medication storage and disposal to help prevent accidental misuse and access to Opioid/prescription drugs in the home. Through community education and outreach, we provide families with tools and information to keep youth safe.
Elementary Prevention Series: GNPC delivers age-appropriate prevention education to elementary students focused on emotional wellness, healthy decision-making, coping skills, peer relationships, and building resilience early in life.
Opioid Education Kiosks: Our interactive opioid education kiosks provide accessible, life-saving information about substance misuse prevention, treatment resources, overdose awareness, and recovery support throughout the community.
Safe at Home Narcan Initiative: Did you know that 52% of overdoses in Nashua happen in private residences? This initiative, led by youth, increases access to Narcan and overdose prevention education for families and community members. By equipping households with life-saving tools and knowledge, we help create safer homes and stronger communities.
TikTok Interviews & Youth Media Outreach: Through youth-centered media projects and TikTok-style interviews, GNPC amplifies youth voices, encourages peer-to-peer conversations, and raises awareness around prevention, mental health, and healthy choices in ways that resonate with today’s youth.
Peer-to-Peer Leadership & Advocacy: We empower youth leaders to create positive change within their schools and community through prevention advocacy, awareness campaigns, and leadership opportunities that build confidence and connection.
Community Awareness & Outreach Events: GNPC participates in community events, resource fairs, and educational outreach efforts that connect families with prevention resources, mental health supports, and local services.
Drug Take-Back Initiatives: We partner with local organizations and law enforcement to support safe prescription drug disposal efforts, helping reduce access to unused medications and promote community safety.
Mental Health Support & Resource Connection: We work to reduce stigma surrounding mental health and connect youth and families to supportive services and community resources that promote emotional well-being.
