Music in Manchester Fund: Keep the Music Playing and Students Learning in Manchester.

At Manchester Community Music School (MCMS), we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the transformative power of music, regardless of age, ability, or financial circumstances.

Each year, MCMS serves more than 1,500 individuals through high-quality music education, music therapy services, ensembles, outreach programs, and performance experiences. We are able to do this because of the support of our community and our commitment to ensuring that music remains accessible to all.

The Music in Manchester Fund helps remove barriers to participation by supporting:

• More than $150,000 in annual financial aid and scholarships
• Music therapy services for children, adults, and older adults
• Community outreach programs in schools, after-school programs, and partner organizations
• Ensemble experiences that foster confidence, teamwork, and belonging
• Accessible music performance experiences for students of all backgrounds and abilities

For many of our students and clients, MCMS provides far more than music lessons. It offers a place to belong, a trusted mentor, a creative outlet, and a supportive community where they can thrive.

Scholarship recipients often tell us that music is the one activity that helps them build confidence, connect with others, and discover their strengths. Parents share their gratitude as they watch their children grow academically, socially, and emotionally through music. Music therapy clients experience meaningful progress toward goals that improve communication, wellness, and quality of life.

The impact extends beyond individual participants. Music brings families together, strengthens communities, and creates opportunities for people of all ages to connect through a shared creative experience.

Through the Music in Manchester Fund, MCMS is working to ensure that no one is turned away because of financial circumstances and that music remains available to everyone who seeks it.
