A non-profit, volunteer rehabilitation, rescue and sanctuary for animals

Coming up on our 25th year as a nonprofit organization, Live and Let Live Farm Rescue and Sanctuary has successfully found homes for thousands of animals over the years. While it would be impossible to give an exact number of every animal who has come through our care, because this work has never been about numbers for us, it has always been about each individual animal and making sure they end up safe, loved, and where they truly belong.

Each year, we care for a wide range of animals, including approximately 50–85 horses, with some becoming lifelong sanctuary residents while others are rehabilitated and placed into carefully selected forever homes when appropriate. We also typically have around 15–30 goats at any given time, with some remaining as sanctuary animals and others being rehabilitated and adopted out once they are ready. Each animal is given individualized care based on their needs, history, and best possible future outcome.

In addition, we also adopt out roughly 800–1,000 dogs, puppies, cats and kittens annually, along with many small animals such as guinea pigs, rabbits, geckos and more.

Nestled in the peaceful hills of Chichester, New Hampshire, the farm provides sanctuary to abused, abandoned and unwanted animals, while also helping animals whose lives have been turned upside down through heartbreaking circumstances beyond anyone’s control.

Not every animal arrives from abuse or neglect. Many come to the farm after their owners pass away, face illness, financial hardship, divorce, housing loss or other life-changing situations that leave families devastated and without options for the animals they love. Live and Let Live Farm steps in during those difficult moments, ensuring these animals are met with kindness, dignity and care instead of uncertainty.

The rescue is home to horses, dogs, cats and many other animals, each carrying their own unique story. Some arrive frightened, injured or emotionally shut down. Others simply need a safe place after losing the only home they have ever known. At the farm, they are given food, shelter, medical care, rehabilitation and the time and patience needed to feel safe again. Animals considered un-adoptable are given lifelong sanctuary surrounded by compassion and love.

In addition to the animals cared for at the farm itself, Live and Let Live Farm has also built a dedicated foster network over the past decade that helps save the lives of pregnant dogs and cats from overcrowded southern shelters. Through transport, fostering and rescue efforts, countless mothers and their babies have been given the opportunity to survive, heal and eventually find loving homes. This network has helped save so many lives that otherwise may never have had a chance.

Visitors often describe the farm as peaceful, healing and unforgettable, a place where once-broken animals learn to trust again and where every life matters. Through the dedication of volunteers, fosters and supporters, the rescue continues to provide hope and second chances to animals who otherwise may have nowhere left to go.

Every donation made during NH Gives directly supports hay, grain, veterinary care, rehabilitation, shelter, rescue transport and the daily needs of the animals who call the sanctuary home. Your support helps ensure that each animal wakes up safe, protected and cared for every single day.

We welcome visitors to come experience the farm and meet the animals during our public tours every Sunday at 2:30 PM. Please wear closed-toe shoes and join us to see what Live and Let Live Farm Rescue & Sanctuary is truly all about.
