Sullivan County Humane Society

$940 raised by 16 donors

Sullivan County Humane Society's charitable purposes are to improve the quality of life for animals within our region and to work to end animal overpopulation, abandonment and neglect. We are working towards this mission through running a feline only shelter. Through responsible adoptions we are finding homeless animals new, forever homes. Through humane education we teach responsible pet ownership. We offer a monthly low-cost spay/neuter program to both owned and free roaming cats, as well as rabbits and dogs, helping to end overpopulation. We offer a low-cost rabies clinic two times a year to help owners provide their pets with the necessary vaccinations. Finally, we run a pet food bank that currently provides food to approximately 80 families on a regular basis, as well as many others on an as needed basis. Our shelter is open five days a week to assist the public with pet food, surrenders and adoptions. We maintain a 24-hour emergency line to assist the public with any animal needs, and our director is a certified cat behaviorist and is able to advise people on animal problems and concerns via e-mail, Facebook, and phone at all times.
