For more than 35 years, land conservation, restoration, and stewardship have been deeply rooted pillars in my life. Whether in Illinois or Nebraska, I found deep satisfaction in leaving a place a little better than I found it.

When I moved to New Hampshire in 2024, I wondered how those roots would find new ground. Gratefully, I discovered Five Rivers Conservation Trust and its commitment to protecting the farms, forests, and waterways that make the Concord NH Capital Region such a special place to live.

Serving on the Board of Five Rivers has given me a firsthand appreciation for both the urgency of this work and the thoughtful, collaborative way it gets done.

These lands are more than beautiful scenery. They provide clean water, local food, outdoor recreation, wildlife habitat, and a sense of connection to something larger than ourselves. They are part of what makes this place feel like home.
