The Moore Center: toys and books for ages 0-3!

The first three years of a child’s life are a critical period of development and lay the foundation for lifelong learning. The Moore Center’s Family Centered Early Supports and Services program provides family coaching and intervention for over 600 local children from birth to age three who have delays and disabilities.

Children learn best through play and engagement with their caregivers within daily routines. Their toys act as therapeutic tools which support brain development by encouraging movement, cognitive processing, and communication. Toys such as board books, bubbles, puzzles, shape sorters, as well as other materials build networks that support future development. Toys are simple yet powerful tools that benefit the children we serve, and they help families turn everyday moments at home into opportunities for growth, learning, and connection.

For many families, however, these materials are out of reach. Many families in our area do not have the means to purchase a variety of developmentally appropriate toys or materials that benefit their child's specific area of need. Funds raised will be used to provide toys and developmental materials to children receiving birth to three services.
