Help Fund Teaching Science Through Art!

Hey friends, 

I'm fundraising for a non-profit that personally means a lot to me. Not only does Unchartered make a commitment to meeting kids where they're at, while teaching them science through art. We also make a commitment to showing up as a diverse group of teachers to ensure that kids see themselves reflected back. As a newer wheelchair user, it was admittedly a little nerve wracking showing up at my first school. But after spending time in the classroom, it really drove it home for me what I was saying to the kids by being there; by showing up as who I was. It gave them permission to do the same. It invited questions about disability and normalized something that doesn't often get talked about or addressed in, or out of schools. The diversity and expertise of our employees and teachers is one of my favorite parts about working for Unchartered. Whether we're showing up as a Person of Color, a wheelchair user, an openly queer person- we're sending the same powerful message; that our students belong. In the classroom, in the lab, in STEM, or even teaching a class. 

People like you are the only reason Unchartered has been able to make art and science education accessible to students who often fall between the cracks in our educational system. It's with donations like yours that allow us to get in classrooms and send a clear message to our students; that they belong. That they are smart enough for the material, and not only that but they can even have fun doing it.

This year, Unchartered is fundraising for NH Gives from June 9th- 10th. NH Gives is a fundraising initiative created by the NH Center for Nonprofits, giving us a chance to be seen on a wider scale, connect with new supporters, and to spread our mission with new and old friends. 

Our goal this year is to raise $5,000. These funds will go directly towards: hands-on science materials, real experiments in the classrooms, and programs delivered to students who wouldn't otherwise have access. 

Translation: your donation turns into actual experiments in actual classrooms.
