Corey's Closet Thrift Store was founded in 2007 by Executive Director, Brenda Sliwerski and named after her Son, Corey, His story is at the heart of everything we do.
The mission of Corey’s Closet is to create meaningful work experiences for those with developmental disabilities. Therefore, we give them opportunities to learn important skills, gain independence and respect within the communities in which they live. And that mission matters- because the reality is, employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities are still very limited, even here in New Hampshire.
Unlike organizations, 100% of our proceeds will go back into our program, allowing us to expand and create more jobs as we grow. So, when we talk about job creation, it's not just helpful, its necessary.
At Corey's Closet, we believe everyone deserves the chance to grow, learn, and succeed in the workplace. Through hands-on experience in retail and customer service, our volunteers build confidence, strengthen valuable skills, and prepare for highly competitive careers. Our dedicated job coach works closely with everyone, helping guide and maximize their unique abilities while encouraging new skill development in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Every donation during NH Gives helps us continue creating accessible opportunities that empower individuals and strengthen our community. ❤️
