The Connecticut River is at the heart of our region — our businesses, farmlands, and health all depend on keeping the Connecticut clean and vibrant.

Centuries of farming, fishing and industry have put the River at risk.

For 65 years, the Connecticut River Conservancy (formerly the Connecticut River Watershed Council) has worked to restore the river to the rich, powerful and beautiful force it has been in the valley and in our lives. We work on the ground in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont and New Hampshire to ensure clean water for all of our communities.

We’ve made great progress...and there is much more to be done. Please help us to work toward a better river and Valley for all of us.

• Improve recreational opportunities for fishing, boating, kayaking and swimming
• Restore riverbanks and remove dams to help fish, improve water quality and protect wildlife habitat
• Take on big polluters
• Engage thousands of volunteers in cleaning up our rivers each fall in our annual Source to Sea Cleanup
• Advocate for the highest level of protection for the whole Connecticut River — all 410 miles from its source near the Canadian border down to Long Island Sound — and its 148 tributaries

Who We Are

The Connecticut River and its tributaries are at the heart of our region — our businesses, farmlands, and health all depend on keeping the Connecticut River watershed clean and vibrant.

For more than 65 years, CRC has worked for the highest level of protection for the whole Connecticut River — all 410 miles from its source near the Canadian border down to Long Island Sound.

We’ve made great progress...and there is much more to be done. Please help us to work toward a better river and valley for all of us.

Your gift can help to ensure that we leave beautiful, safe, and healthy rivers for future generations. Your support helps to:

• Improve river flows, enhance recreational opportunities and improve fish passage for decades to come during the FERC relicensing of Wilder, Bellows Falls and Vernon Dams
• Work with farmers to protect farmland and reduce runoff into our rivers
• Plant native trees to restore riverbanks
• Enhance opportunities for fishing, boating, paddling and swimming
• Remove dams to help fish, improve water quality and protect wildlife habitat
•  Remove tons of debris from our rivers during the annual Source to Sea Cleanup
