The Friends of Benson Park, Inc. is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to develop and maintain the “Discovery Center at Benson Park” in Hudson, NH, as a premier destination
that honors the history of “Benson’s Wild Animal Farm” and fosters a love of nature and learning.  

We are committed to preserving the park’s heritage, providing educational
and interactive experiences, and engaging the community through a variety of programs and exhibits.

Services Provided:
Current programs serve over 5,000 people annually including weekend volunteer operation of the Benson Park Store/Gift Shop selling souvenirs, refreshments & ice cream from May-Sept.; Coordinating monthly park cleanup days; providing free community activities including outdoor hiking programs, live music concerts and our annual "Family Fun Day" - a great day of entertainment for the greater Hudson community.

2026 Goals:
This year marks the Centennial Celebration of the opening of "Benson's Wild Animal Farm" to the public back in 1926. Celebrating "A Century of Smiles", we will feature various family & community events in Benson Park during the season from May-September.  

On September 12th,  we'll celebrate "Centennial Celebration Day" to include the "soft opening" of the "Discovery Center at Benson Park"  offering tours into the Center, free live music, a petting zoo, magic,  games, face painting, balloons and more!

The “Discovery Center” will provide a safe, community destination for family fun & interactive children's programs offering immersive experiences and educational programs that connect visitors with the natural world and its inhabitants.  It will honor the past, present and future of Benson Park, ensuring that the legacy of "Benson’s Wild Animal Farm" continues to inspire and educate.  A unique memorabilia display will help to preserve the 100-year history and legacy of this beloved park.
