GSIL is NH's only independent living center on a mission to promote quality of life with independence for people with disabilities. We serve thousands of individuals with disabilities across New Hampshire through consumer-directed programs and services. GSIL fills the gaps to turn challenges into opportunities so everyone can live their best life.

GSIL's programs and services include advocacy, education, peer support, home access modifications, training, transitioning, financial and benefits counseling, in-home supports, community living services, and many other day-to-day services. Your generosity allows GSIL to remove barriers for individuals with disabilities and to help them forge a clear path to a positive, independent, and stable future.

Founded in 1980, Granite State Independent Living (GSIL) is a statewide organization with a mission to promote quality of life with independence for people with disabilities and seniors through advocacy, information, education, support, and transition services. GSIL helps those facing disabilities and seniors to live life as independently as possible. 

Over 51% of GSIL's staff have a disability, thus acting as role models and providing real-life examples of people with disabilities living independently and with autonomy. The opportunity for support from peers helps to instill in our consumers the knowledge and belief that they, too, can live as an integrated, independent person in their community.
