Moultonboro United Methodist Church

We are a vibrant community committed to each other, led by the Holy Spirit, working together to care for the needs of those in the Lakes Region and beyond as we make disciples and live the loving Word of God.

We are a welcoming church - Open Hearts, Open Doors, Open Minds - and it is our practice to celebrate an open communion. All who desire to be in relationship with God through Jesus Christ are invited here and to receive the gifts of bread and cup.

We are an historic church, 187 years since local Methodists held prayer meetings, becoming a formal organization in 1840, in the Moultonborough Village. We have continued growing through the years, expanding our sanctuary and building a parsonage to house our Pastor's and their families. In 2002 a Shepard's Crook with the names of all clergy who have served MUMC was presented, adding to it and passing it on to each in succession.

 We have a deep history of Outreach into the community, helping our neighbors in need as we are able - Neighbors helping Neighbors - is both a mission and a strong and ongoing commitment. 

We have weekly worship every Sunday at 9:30 followed by fellowship with coffee and food. We offer an Easter sunrise service and additional worship services throughout the liturgical year.

We offer a monthly community dinner - free of charge to those who attend. There are two local AA meetings housed here. A warm coat drive, a Shelter Shower to benefit those affected by domestic abuse and trafficking, and a partnership with our town to set up an Angel tree at Christmas for gifts for local children are some of our many outreach projects!

We offer Bible studies and book groups, Sunday School and Confirmation, Scholarship opportunities for local graduating seniors.

We have a prayer shawl ministry, a Music Team and a Bell Choir.

We have a yearly summer fair.

It takes many hands and feet to run a loving church and many donations. It is our hope to continue our ministries into the years ahead. We, as with many churches, have struggled financially as a result of the Covid pandemic. The current economy has also posed considerable financial challenges. We appreciate the generosity of those who contribute to this place to keep both the lights on and the building warm so we can do the vast and heartfelt work of Jesus Christ into the Lakes Region and beyond.
