Your Gift Brings Native History to Life for Thousands of Children

Support education and cultural experiences that spark curiosity, empathy, and pride in the next generation

Every year, thousands of children visit Mt. Kearsarge Indian Museum—and for many, it’s their very first encounter with Native American culture and history.

They walk through our galleries with wide eyes, full of questions.  They participate in Native crafts or games, explore the Medicine Woods Trail to learn about Native environmental wisdom, and hear stories that challenge the myths they've been taught in textbooks and the stereotypes they’ve seen in movies.

At MKIM, we’re not just preserving the past—we’re inspiring the future.  But we can’t do it without you.

Your NH Gives donation supports:

  • School group tours led by knowledgeable educators
  • Hands-on children’s activities in the museum and at events
  • Family-friendly events like Snow Snake and Maple Day
  • Interactive exhibits and trails that welcome curiosity and wonder

Your gift helps children connect to Native history, language, and art—and leaves them with something they’ll carry for life: respect, understanding, and pride in a living culture.

Make a Difference Today

An example that sticks in our minds: At an outdoor stargazing event, one youngster said to our Executive Director, “This is the first time I’ve been outside at night!”  Imagine the impact we have had on this boy's life.

Please help us reach our goal of $8000 to support our youth and family programming. Our Board of Trustees will match donations up to $3500!

Who We Are

As an arts and culture organization, we preserve Native American heritage, celebrate Native self-expression, foster appreciation of New Hampshire’s diversity and the diversity of Native cultures. We preserve and display Native-made objects from the remote past through the present and showcase plants used by Native peoples for food, medicine, housing and household goods. We celebrate Native self-expression through art, storytelling, music and dance. We educate through tours, classes, lectures and family events.
