Secondhand Costume Annual Redistribution Effort

Halloween is a night filled with excitement, imagination, and a sense of belonging. At least it's supposed to be about that. But for many children, they are stuck watching from the shadows as other kids have fun because costumes are an added expense their families can't afford.  S.C.A.R.E. was created to ensure that every little ghost and goblin has the opportunity to experience all that magic & mayhem of Halloween, regardless of their family's financial status. 

Through donations collected from the community, S.C.A.R.E. gathers new and gently used costumes which are sorted and distributed to families all across NH (and beyond) who need a little bit of help...all at no cost! What began as a small local effort has grown into a movement serving many communities you call home. Last year alone, S.C.A.R.E. provided over 1,500 costumes across 10 communities and we are still growing! 

Your support during NH Gives helps us reach new communities helping more children and families, increases our transport capacity which brings more costumes to our distribution events, safely store costumes and accessories until the next season, and all while you are protecting our environment keeping waste out of the landfills!

When a child picks out a costume they get to take home, it's not simply a costume. Each one has a story. Are they the superhero or did they want to be the villain? Did the princess save her kingdom? Maybe they chose construction worker or astronaut or creature from the shadows! One simple outfit helps to spark their imagination, boosts their self-esteem, and create lasting memories with family or friends!
