Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests

For 125 years, the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests has helped shape the future of New Hampshire’s forests, waters, and outdoor spaces. Today, the Forest Society cares for more than 200 conserved forests across the state — maintaining recreational trails, protecting wildlife corridors, safeguarding clean water, supporting healthy and resilient forests, and connecting people of all ages to the outdoors through educational programs.

As we celebrate our quasquicentennial, our work is only growing. We’re helping lead a statewide effort to conserve 40% of New Hampshire’s lands by 2040 — an additional 400,000 acres that will strengthen climate resilience, biodiversity, recreation, and the character of the Granite State for generations to come.
