Dear Friends of Spark!
Spark! Community Center has been going strong for 12 years now! We would like to express our gratitude and thanks to all our past and current participants and to our generous donors who have helped make the Spark! Community Center what it is today. Because of donors like you, we provide a warm and safe space for everyone in the community to be together, do fun activities, or simply hang out.
In our society, we have state and federal programs that provide support services and educational opportunities for individuals with “differing abilities” while in public schools, or until age 21. Once aged out of the traditional systems, they have limited opportunities. They may not feel integrated in the community, or have opportunities for continued learning and educational pathways, or have the opportunity to spend time with friends and make new friends. All of these actions and opportunities allow a person to feel their own worth - this we need to treasure and support.
Spark! Community Center addresses these needs in a our own way by providing a safe place for people of ALL abilities to focus on these efforts. And Spark! receives none of the funding mentioned above but relies on grants and private donations. Participants come from dozens of towns around the Upper Valley, split between NH & VT.
Spark! Community Center provides:
● A place where participants can meet up - to eat and socialize with their friends, work on a computer, play board games, do puzzles, play musical instruments, do arts and crafts, or where all can just hang out, free of charge.
● A revolving list of activities and educational programs, such as: Music and Dance with Jenny! WiiSports Club! Spark Players Theater Class! Movie Club! and Meditation with John! (See our website and follow us on Facebook for a full list of offerings – www.sparkcommunitycenter.org)
● Friday Fun Nights such as a Movie Night, Bingo, Karaoke Dance Party, Outdoor Activities, Game Night, Holiday Parties, and Guest Speakers.
● Other special activities include field trips or presenting a play and/or a musical. This year, Spark! Players performed scenes from "Beauty and the Beast" and we will be returning to the Lebanon City Pool for group swimming evenings.
In closing, we ask that you please donate today to help us reach our NH Gives goal of $2000. We welcome donations from individuals, businesses, and institutions in and around the Upper Valley and beyond to financially support our mission and cause. Thank you so much for your financial contribution - we appreciate you!
With great thanks,
Allison Flint, Board President

Who We Are
We believe in an integrated society where everyone is valued for their abilities rather than their disabilities. Our core philosophy is that everyone has a hidden talent or gift worth sharing with the world, a “spark” as our co-founder John puts it. Spark! welcomes all community members to take part in a variety of programs, classes and events as well as use the many different opportunities available at the center.
