Help New Hampshire Seniors Facing Hunger & Isolation

This NH Gives, help us raise $20,000 to bring adequate food, smiles and hope to older adults here in New Hampshire facing some of the hardest moments of their lives.

Right now, too many of your neighbors are struggling behind closed doors. Some are skipping meals because they can’t afford enough food. Others spend days alone, with no friends or family to check on them – and no one to call. Many are being forced to make impossible choices – medicine or food, heat or rent, a ride to the doctor or simply staying home and hoping for the best.

Your gift through NH Gives can be life-changing for an older adult who feels scared, alone or forgotten. It can fill an empty refrigerator, provide a ride to a doctor’s appointment that cannot be missed, and bring a caring voice to someone who has gone days without speaking to another person.

They Need Your Help Right Now

Tonight, there are seniors across New Hampshire sitting alone in empty homes, worried about how they will afford groceries, get to a doctor’s appointment or make it through another day with no one to call.

  • One in three older adults in New Hampshire lives alone.
  • More than 10,000 seniors do not know where their next meal will come from.
  • Too many are choosing between food and medicine, heat and rent.
  • Without support, isolation can have devastating consequences – increasing the risk of depression, dementia, stroke and even early death.

Today, You Can Change a Life

Your gift can make all the difference for seniors like:

  • Roberta, living alone in a rural area, will receive regular check-in calls and emotional support from volunteers, so she knows she’s not forgotten.
  • Nancy won’t have to wonder where her next meal will come from thanks to monthly grocery deliveries that keep her pantry and refrigerator stocked.
  • Rod, who lives alone in Peterborough, will find purpose and friendship through social connections and community events that he calls, “vital to his health and well-being."
  • Barbara, who is unable to drive, will get rides to critical medical appointments, bringing peace of mind and the care she depends on.

Your Gift Supports Two Vital Programs Here in New Hampshire

Your NH Gives donation directly supports two Catholic Charities NH programs that lift up older adults with dignity, compassion and lasting impact:

CareGivers provides free transportation to medical appointments, food deliveries and other forms of support to help homebound seniors living on low, fixed incomes. These services help older adults remain safe, independent and cared for in their own homes.

Monadnock at Home helps older adults across the Monadnock Region age safely at home through trusted volunteers, vetted service providers and meaningful social connection. For many seniors, it is the difference between feeling alone and feeling like they belong.

Please Give Today

For just 24 hours, NH Gives is your chance to stand beside older adults across New Hampshire who are struggling with hunger, isolation and the challenges of aging.

Your gift today can bring food to an empty table. A ride to the doctor. A voice on the other end of the phone. Friendship. Hope. The comfort of knowing someone cares.

Please give now and help older adults across New Hampshire stay safe, connected and right where they want to be – at home.
