The Need Is Urgent

Right now, 30% of older adults in New Hampshire live alone. Social isolation puts them at higher risk of dementia, stroke, depression and even premature death – it’s been compared to smoking 15 cigarettes a day.

And, more than 10,000 seniors are food insecure, without enough food to eat and often forced to choose between groceries, rent or heat.

Here's What Your Gift Can Do:
Roberta, living alone in a rural area, will receive regular check-in calls and emotional support from volunteers, so she knows she’s not forgotten.
Nancy won’t have to wonder where her next meal will come from thanks to monthly grocery deliveries that keep her pantry and refrigerator stocked.
Rod, who lives alone in Peterborough, will find purpose and friendship through social connections and community events that he calls, “vital to his health and well-being."
Barbara, who is unable to drive, will get rides to critical medical appointments, bringing peace of mind and the care she depends on.

CareGivers provides free transportation to medical appointments, food delivery and other forms of support to help homebound seniors living on low, fixed incomes. These services ensure they can continue to live independently in their own homes and know they are not alone.

Monadnock at Home helps seniors across the Monadnock Region combat isolation and age in place within their homes, safely and with confidence. We do this through a trusted network of volunteers, vetted service providers, and meaningful social connections.
