For more than 110 years, The Colonial has brought people together through film, live music, conversation, and shared experiences that make life in the North Country richer, more connected, and more joyful. Your support helps ensure that this historic theatre remains not only a treasured landmark, but a welcoming community gathering place for all.

This year, we are especially proud to launch our new Open Door Ticket Program, which provides free tickets to Colonial film screenings for community members who qualify for food assistance. No one should have to choose between experiencing culture in their community and putting food on the table. Through this program, more of our neighbors can enjoy the discovery, connection, and joy of film at The Colonial.

It supports the programs, people, and behind-the-scenes work that allow The Colonial to serve thousands of audience members each season — from beloved films and world-class live performances to family programs, community conversations, and new efforts to reduce barriers to participation.

The Colonial Theatre is the home of arts, film, music and culture in New Hampshire’s North Country. Located in the heart of The White Mountains in Bethlehem, New Hampshire, the historic Colonial Theatre is one of the oldest continuously operated movie theaters in the country, celebrating its 111th anniversary this year.

After a series of renovations and improvements, the 297-seat Colonial offers state-of-the-art digital projection and surround sound for independent and world cinema, hosts Grammy award-winning performing artists, family entertainment, and community events—all without losing the intimate charm of a vintage theater.
