The Franconia Soaring Foundation (FSF) was established
in 2016, with a mission of preserving the Franconia Airport for future generations of aviation and outdoor recreation enthusiast, and training and educating the public on the art and science of motorless flight, and . Through hard work, careful strategic planning, and generous donations, the FSF became proud owners of the Franconia airport in May of 2019 and have since made substantial capital improvements enabling us to deliver on our mission promise.

The FSF recently completed Phase 1 construction on a new
Training and Operations Center facility located at the Franconia
Airport. Our goal is to finish Phases 2 and 3 in 2025, completing construction of the modern facility that replaced the aged flight shack that
faithfully supported flight operations for nearly 50 years. The completed Training Center will feature the modern conveniences the spartan shack lacked. The 6,100 square foot, two-level structure will provide a
large training classroom, an operations center, four reconfigurable guest rooms, kitchen, laundry, an observation deck, and ground level storage for airfield maintenance equipment. The structure include 46,000 kilowatt-hour per year solar array which enable the building to exceed net-zero energy consumption, supplying excess energy to the grid. This also provides, for the first time, a major year-round training center in New Hampshire's North Country.

Through grants, your generosity
and assistance from the Franconia Soaring Association, the Foundation is able to
provide resources and financial support to aid with free instructional
services and access to a fleet of gliders at substantially reduced
costs. The Foundation provides flight simulator software, flight
simulators, and educational materials in addition to a limited number of
free introductory flights for Science, Technology, Engineering and
Mathematics (STEM) students. A large part of that
mission involves partnerships with surrounding schools and Career and
Technical Centers. We are excited to have these partnerships in place
already with the Hugh Gallen and the Mount Washington Valley Career and
Technical Centers. Here, school-aged children and young adults
have opportunities to train and earn a pilot’s license at substantially
reduced cost. Your support is essential to accomplishing our mission of preserving
Franconia Airport and educating the general public on the art and
science of motorless flight.

Thank you for your continued support and enabling us to reach or goals.
