Gather

Gather's mission is to offer innovative programs that build food security in welcoming and dignified ways. 

Serving approximately 10,000 people each month across our programs, Gather is working to meet the immediate needs of our neighbors by providing nutritious food and prepared meals at no cost to those experiencing hunger in our communities. 

Programs like our Pantry Market in Portsmouth and our more than 40 mobile markets that take place in communities across the Seacoast each month improve access to nourishing foods like fresh produce, proteins, dry goods, and other healthy options - providing our members with the opportunity to choose the foods that they need, all at no cost.

In addition to meeting this immediate need, Gather is building long-term pathways to stability through initiatives like our new Fresh Start Culinary Workforce Training Program and collaboration with community partners to provide wrap-around support services for those we serve. 

Founded in 1816, by a group of compassionate women dedicated to feeding the families of fishermen on the Seacoast, Gather is one of the oldest social service agencies in the country. Over the years, Gather has evolved and expanded its reach and programs, but its unwavering commitment to ending food insecurity in Seacoast communities remains at the core of its mission.
