The Gilmanton Year-Round Library Association (GYRLA) was organized in 1999 with the mission of bringing year-round library services to the residents of Gilmanton. Over a decade of volunteer effort as well as donations in excess of $675,000 resulted in the Grand Opening of the Gilmanton Year-Round Library (GYRL) on September 12, 2009. Housed in a reconstructed 1790's barn, the library offers full services and programs to Gilmanton residents. The GYRLA achieved its goal of constructing the library independent of tax funds.
Since opening, the GYRLA has submitted a petition warrant article each year requesting partial operating funds from the Town. The operating budget has grown modestly over time, and the Association has worked hard to keep the annual request as low as possible.
