At Hidden Pond Farm Equine Rescue, our mission is to help
horses in danger of entering the slaughter pipeline. Our horses come to us from a variety of
channels including the kill pen, auction, and horses surrendered by their
owners. We strive to rehabilitate them
and find them safe, permanent homes. We
take any horse, regardless of physical or emotional struggles, and work
patiently to help them trust again and feel valued and treasured. The farm is situated in a quiet neighborhood on 30 acres in Brentwood, New Hampshire. In 2014, Phyllis Elliott and her daughter, Jessica, started Hidden Pond Farm Equine Rescue, rescuing horses and bringing them to the farm for rehabilitation and rehoming. Today, there are 30 rescued horses at various stages of rehabilitation living at the rescue waiting for new families to welcome them home. Our farm isn't fancy by any means, but we treat each horse as an individual and provide the best environment possible to foster healing.  In many cases, it is easier to heal bodies, but some of our horses need more time to heal their inner wounds.  We give each horse the time it needs to heal past traumas and get their spark back.

As part of our mission, we also focus on education to prevent horses from entering the slaughter pipeline. We hold educational and community events and also host a summer camp each year for local youth. Phyllis encourages volunteerism, and anyone who is eager to learn is welcomed. There is always some way to support our horses' healing from barn repair to daily barn chores to just spending time grooming and resting quietly with a horse to help them learn to trust humans again. It is our belief that horses are excellent teachers, and we allow them to be our greatest ambassadors.
