Lakes Region Model Railroad Museum, Inc.

We are a group of dedicated volunteers working to preserve the rich history of the Lakes Region railroad system, by means of an operating model train museum. Our craftsmen, artists and historians unite to bring history to life, passing knowledge to future generations through hands-on discovery.

The 1872 freight house, which houses the museum, is a true step back in time.

Our main objectives are to give you an interactive experience and a historic portrait of the socioeconomic and cultural impact the railroads had on the local economies. Our STEAM program, will be a hands on audio assisted educational approach, which fosters creative thinking and solution finding. This bridges the gap between history and todays technology, paving the way to understand the engineering and social impact of the railway system. 

Future activities will engage local youth groups through structured learning programs on site, take home assignments or classroom projects. Community group organizations, locals and tourists, will enjoy educational learning activities and the visit itself. These programs bridge home, school, and community.
