Since 1996, we’ve trained over 2,200 residents to serve as welcoming, informed ambassadors—offering guests personalized recommendations, meaningful interactions, and memorable experiences.

Each year:

• 380+ active GSAs serve 22,000+ volunteer hours
• They assist 100,000+ guests across the state
• At The Big E, they represent New Hampshire to over a million visitors in just 17 days

Our GSAs help turn one-time visitors into lifelong fans of New Hampshire. And those referrals? They send guests your way—whether you're a lodging property, restaurant, museum, farm, shop, or attraction.

Who We Are

New Hampshire Granite State Ambassadors (NHGSA) was founded in 1996 on the simple idea that when visitors got off the plane in Manchester, New Hampshire, a friendly, New Hampshire “information specialist” would be there to provide answers to the questions that get asked.

Since then, NHGSA has grown to include 21 member visitor centers and has certified over 1,500 residents to become Granite State Ambassadors. They have personally greeted millions of visitors to New Hampshire; also serving as ambassadors for the state at special events such as the NH Farm & Forest Expo, Made in NH Expo, NH State Home Show, NH Poetry Out Loud, Rock’n Ribfest, NH Primary Events, as well as greeting over 1 million guests each year in the New Hampshire Building at the 17-day Eastern States Exposition each fall.

Granite State Ambassadors have provided over $5.4 million in hospitality value through 265,000+ hours of volunteer service at visitor information centers and special events throughout the state. Annually, more than 300 active volunteers serve approximately 20,000 hours and assist well over 110,000 guests.

On this our 20th Anniversary year, we are sharing our vast Customer Service knowledge with the tourism industry, special events and students with our new training workshop program.
