Your support through NH Gives will help more people access the civil legal assistance they need to protect their homes, families, and futures.
Who We Are
The NH Campaign for Legal Services is the joint fundraising effort supporting New Hampshire’s two civil legal aid organizations: 603 Legal Aid (603LA) and New Hampshire Legal Assistance (NHLA).
Both organizations help thousands of low-income, elderly, and vulnerable Granite Staters each year by providing free civil legal information, representation, and advocacy. From preventing evictions to helping survivors of violence find safety and stability, the NH Campaign for Legal Services funds ensure that people can protect their homes, families, income, and rights.
What We Do
Every day, people across New Hampshire face life-changing civil, non-criminal legal problems they cannot afford to handle alone. More than 16,000 individuals in New Hampshire received critical civil legal aid in 2025. Yet 60 percent of civil legal needs remain unmet, even as thousands of residents face life-altering legal problems affecting their most basic needs.
NHLA and 603LA help individuals and families navigate civil legal issues involving:
- Housing, including evictions and foreclosures
- Family law and protection from abuse
- Access to public benefits and healthcare
- Employment and unemployment issues
- Consumer and financial stability matters
603LA helps low-income people by providing free civil legal advice and information by telephone, by representing someone in court, or through a referral to a volunteer attorney or another program for legal help. 603LA also offers self-help resources, guides, and educational materials online to support people representing themselves in court. NHLA provides free legal representation and advocacy to low-income and elderly New Hampshire residents facing serious civil legal challenges. NHLA attorneys and paralegals represent clients in state and federal courts and before government agencies on matters involving housing, public benefits, family law, employment security, and other issues that affect health, safety, and financial stability.
How Your Gift Helps
Your NH Gives donation helps:

- Support attorneys, advocates, and paralegals providing critical legal services
- Ensure more New Hampshire residents can access justice regardless of income
Why It Matters
The need for civil legal aid in New Hampshire has never been greater.
There is less than one legal aid attorney for every 10,000 low-income residents in our state. Demand for services continues to outpace available resources, resulting in long wait times and difficult decisions about which cases can be accepted. Without legal help, the consequences can be devastating.
603LA and NHLA help people understand their rights, negotiate solutions, access critical resources, and, when necessary, secure representation in court.
