Players Ring

Since 1992, the Players Ring has been a home for fearless theatre in the Seacoast—where hundreds of local artists each Season bring bold stories to life, and audiences gather for experiences filled with joy, wonder, challenge, and connection.

Nestled inside a historic building in Portsmouth’s iconic South End, our uniquely intimate theatre dissolves the distance between performer and patron. Here, audiences do not simply watch a story unfold—they breathe alongside it.

The Ring offers something increasingly rare: a place where artists can take creative risks, develop their craft professionally, and create work that is imaginative, provocative, entertaining, and deeply human.

The ripple effect extends far beyond our stage. The Ring helps fuel Portsmouth’s cultural vitality, supports local businesses, attracts visitors, and strengthens the creative economy throughout our region.  

Plus, we are sharing our talents and resources with the next generation of performers through a unique partnership with the City of Portsmouth Recreation Department. Each experience is designed to build confidence, spark imagination, and create a sense of belonging.

In recent years, we have embraced an ambitious path of artistic excellence, organizational growth, and deeper community impact. We have grown thoughtfully and intentionally—but growth requires investment, stamina, and courage.

Ticket sales cover only 66% of our operating budget. As we approach the end of our Season, we have just $10,000 left to raise toward our $135,000 annual giving goal.

At a time when public support for the arts is increasingly uncertain, individual donations are not simply appreciated—they are essential.

Your gift sustains artists. It welcomes audiences. It protects a space where people gather to laugh, reflect, feel, and connect with fellow humans.
