Support Pope Memorial Library During NH Gives 2026

In 2026, we’re asking for your help to raise money to keep Pope Memorial Library thriving.

For 139 years, the library has been more than a place for books—it has been a cornerstone of the Mount Washington Valley community. Today, it remains a welcoming hub where people of all ages and backgrounds can gather, learn and connect.

At Pope Memorial Library, we foster a love of reading and lifelong learning while strengthening community ties. We provide safe, inclusive spaces, diverse resources and dynamic programming that bring people together. From beloved storytimes for young readers to author talks, art exhibits, film screenings and even live animal presentations, there is something here for everyone.

With your support, we can continue expanding these offerings—creating even more opportunities to explore ideas, celebrate local creativity and build meaningful connections. Your gift helps ensure that the library remains a vibrant, accessible place where everyone truly belongs.

We hope you take pride in the role you’ve played in shaping this community resource. Together, we can carry that legacy forward for generations to come.

Please consider making a gift during NH Gives. Every contribution makes a difference.

We look forward to welcoming you at the library soon.

Who We Are

The North Conway Public Library, now the Pope Memorial Library, is Mount Washington Valley's Community Library.  Located in North Conway Village, the Pope Memorial Library is a privately funded library which is free and open to the public.  We look and act like a public library but we receive no public funding: no money from the town, state, or federal government. We must raise 100% of our operating funds every year.
Major sources of income are donations, fundraisers, and bequests.
The library is large enough to offer its patrons a broad selection, and small enough to respond to the individual reading needs and preferences of its users.
