The Southern District YMCA continues to be a vital part of our community, providing programs and services that support youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. From essential childcare and summer camp programs to wellness initiatives for all ages, the Y is a place where individuals and families can learn, grow, and thrive.

Our impact is seen in our goals and felt in our work. We are passionate about our mission to bring hope and support, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Through our key service areas, we remain committed to making a difference in the lives of those we serve. You can support us in any or all of the areas that matter most to you.

Childcare

Your support allows us to open and operate more sites by allowing us to hire more staff so that we can serve an increasing number of families in need, regardless of their ability to pay. This program is vital in that it:

·        Provides childcare as parents re-enter the workforce

·        Prevents learning loss by bridging school curriculum

·        Provides a safe space for children to learn

·        Subsidizes services for families who cannot afford childcare

Camp

Camp Lincoln celebrates 99 years of bringing joy to kids and families by creating a lifetime of memories. The camp experience builds leadership skills and provides children with a greater connection to the outdoors.  Beyond running a seasonal facility, serving over 600 campers per day, 1700 per season, Camp Lincoln also provides: 

·        Outdoor education programs.

·        A summer daycare camp through the Little River Exeter facility

·        Providing camp experiences to families and children that cannot afford to pay. 

Your support helps us upgrade the camp facilities so that we can continue the legacy of the camp and give its 99-year-old facility the necessary facelift and upkeep. Your support also helps us expand the camp facilities so that we can accommodate more families in need every year.

Community

Exeter YMCA is more than just a gym. The Exeter facility provides a vital support system for the community by focusing on meeting critical needs in partnership with others to provide health and wellness.  Beyond the fitness and wellness facility itself, it also provides:

·        Supporting health-based programs creating awareness and accessibility like Livestrong Cancer Survivorship, Walk with Ease, and more evidence-based programming.

·        Programs dedicated to engaging teens through sports and fitness programs.

·        Support geared to working with isolated seniors

·        Provides an outlet for better mental health through fitness.

Your support goes to providing key programs for the community, helping us provide staffing, and maintaining the quality of the facility experience.  As membership fees do not fully cover operational costs, the annual fund is a critical source of support for the organization to provide the full range of services to the community. 

As you can see, our needs for funding are diverse, and our ability to support those that cannot afford to pay is a vital part of our mission. This year our goal is $200,000, which will allow us to address the needs of those who cannot pay and provide ongoing and improved services to those existing members of our Y community.
