About Taylor Community

For more than a century, Taylor Community has been dedicated to creating a compassionate, vibrant environment where older adults can live with dignity, independence, and connection.  What began as a vision to provide security and care for seniors has grown into a thriving nonprofit community that serves residents across the Lakes Region of New Hampshire.

Today, Taylor is home to individuals who lived remarkable lives.  Teachers, veterans, doctors, nurses, parents, artists, entrepreneurs, neighbors and friends.  Each resident brings a lifetime of stories, experiences, and contributions to or community.  Our mission is to honor those lives by ensuring that every person who calls Taylor home continues to live with purpose, comfort and joy.

But creating a community where older adults truly thrive requires compassion, opportunity and the support of people who believe aging should be filled with dignity and meaning.

That is where donors like you make all the difference.

A Community Built on Compassion

Aging is one of life's most personal journeys.  For many older adults, moving to a retirement community represents a major life transition.  It means leaving a longtime home, adjusting to new routines, and navigating the uncertainties that often accompany aging.

At Taylor Community, we strive to make that transition one of comfort, connection and possibility.

Residents are welcomed into a warm and supportive environment where friendships grow, activities flourish, and every individual is valued.  From community meals and lively conversations to wellness programs, educational opportunities, and creative activities, life at Taylor is built around engagement and community.

Our residents are not defined by their age.  They are defined by their interests, passions, and relationships.  Some residents spend their mornings walking or enjoying coffee with friends.  Others participate in book clubs, art classes, lectures, or wellness programs.  Music fills the air during our free concerts and performances.  Celebrations bring residents together for holidays, milestones and community traditions.

These moments may seem simple, but they are incredibly powerful.  They help residents stay active, connected, and emotionally fullfilled.

They are made possible in large part through philanthropic support.

Why Donations Matter

Residents at Taylor Community purchase contracts that help cover the cost of housing, services and care.  At its core, this model functions much like an insurance based system overseen by the New Hampshire Department of Insurance.  Fees paid by residents help support the essential operations of our community.

However, these fees can not cover everything that makes life here truly special.  The programs that bring music to our campus, the opportunties that support our dedicated staff, the promise that residents will always have a home here even if they outlive their financial resources.  These critical aspects of our mission rely on generosity.  Philanthropic support allows Taylor to go beyond the basics of care and create an environment where residents truly thrive.  Donations make it possible to provide meaningful experiences, sustain compassionate programs, and uphold the values that have guided Taylor for more than a century.

The Impact of Your Gift

When you support Taylor Community, you are investing in people.  You are supporting the neighbor who enjoys live music that bring back memories from earlier chapters of life.  You are helping a caregiver continue their education so they can provide even better care for residents.  You are ensuring that a resident who faces financial hardship can remain surrounded by friends, caregivers and a community that feels like family.

Each gift strengthens the foundation of compassion that Taylor was built on.
