The Community Players of Concord, NH

A nonprofit organization

$28,813 raised by 130 donors

The Community Players of Concord, NH is an all-volunteer organization founded in 1927 to "encourage, foster and promote participation by amateurs in all phases of the theatrical arts."  Over the decades, thousands of area residents have found a theatrical home with the Players, working on and presenting shows year after year for delighted area audiences.

Our Children's Theatre Project, launched in 1996, allows children to perform in their own fully produced shows at the Concord City Auditorium (“the Audi”).  We also offer children’s musical theatre camps during winter and summer vacation.

The Players take the “community” part of our name seriously.  We regularly lend costumes, props and set pieces to dozens of other theatre groups, schools and civic organizations.  Our website, www.communityplayersofconcord.org, is rich with information about our history and programs, including a list of all past productions – well over 300 shows.

NH Gives is an important component of our fundraising efforts. This year, our generous supporter Lord Xonox has once again offered us a $1,000 challenge gift. Lord Xonox will match, dollar for dollar, online gifts made to us through NH Gives, while the funds last!  We welcome your gift in any amount during NH Gives!

The generosity of our supporters has been critical to keeping our organization afloat.  Thank you in advance for considering a donation to the Players. We look forward to seeing you at the theatre!

Who We Are

The Community Players of Concord, NH is an all-volunteer community theatre organization founded in 1927 with a mission "to encourage, foster and promote the participation by amateurs in all phases of the theatrical arts." Over the decades, "the Players" organization has provided a theatrical home to thousands of area residents.

The Players website is rich with information about its history and programs, including a list of past productions - at last count, well over 300 shows. A typical "season" for the Players includes 4 fully produced shows at the Concord City Auditorium, including one performed by the organization's youth division, the Children's Theatre Project. Workshops, trainings and children's school vacation musical theatre camps are also regularly offered.

The Players Studio, located at 435 Josiah Bartlett Road in Concord, NH is the organization's headquarters. All non-performance activities are held there, including auditions, rehearsals, set building, meetings and workshops. The Studio is also where the Players clean, build, repair and store thousands of costumes, props and set pieces which they regularly lend out to other theatre groups, schools, civic organizations, church groups and others, with more than 155 such organizations served over the years. The Players is an open and welcoming environment where adults and children learn, share, grow and have fun while working toward common goals in the theatrical arts.
