Pass it on to Family & Friends!
NH Gives 2025/Launching West Central’s Passion Projects!
Most of us benefit from having a hobby or passion that
provides us with purpose and fuels our creativity. These pursuits often
motivate us to get out of bed in the morning and shape how we spend the
majority of our weekends. West Central clients do not always possess the
resources to explore a new interest or long-held passion. Picture being a
teenager presented with the opportunity to participate in therapeutic horse
riding lessons, a young mom grappling with self-image who wishes to try yoga
classes, or an older adult eager to learn how to paint.
People engaged in exercise, work, and community
activities are happier and healthier. Engaging in these activities is the
foundation of forming long-lasting friendships and good social support. Passion
and purpose through work, leisure, and hobbies contribute to good mental health
for children and adults.
As a participating non-profit in NH Gives, West
Central seeks to establish a fund for mini-grants to be awarded to clients to
pursue an activity such as gardening, fly fishing, or art classes. Please join
us by contributing to our Passion
Projects Program at West Central Behavioral Health. Initial gifts, up to
$1,000, will be matched by West Central Employee sponsors.
Giving begins at 5 PM on June 10th!
We Are West Central Behavioral Health
Nurturing Dreams...Transforming Lives...
...it’s what we do every day, with people of all ages, from all walks of life, and especially caring for the most vulnerable and marginalized among us in our local communities in NH -- regardless of their financial circumstances. In fact, we were able to provide $600,000 of charitable care last year thanks to caring donors like you.
1 in 5 people will experience mental illness this year, and 5 in 5 will experience a mental health issue in their lifetimes. That makes our mission so important to everyone. Mental illness and substance use disorders don’t discriminate. Since 1977, West Central clinicians and staff work tirelessly to help nurture people’s dreams and transform their lives for the better -- and save lives every step of the way.
Even as parts of our local community begin to emerge from lockdown and isolation, this remains a stressful time. As a result, depression, anxiety, substance misuse, and mental health crisis situations are on the rise. We are highly-skilled and caring doctors, nurses, therapists, case workers, substance use counselors, and front-line crisis support clinicians.
As a result of the pandemic, we’re seeing a sharp rise in pediatric mental, emotional, and behavioral health conditions. Children need our help, and so do their parents. Without our support, kids in crisis will have no place to turn. Parents and emergency departments are not equipped to help. Schools are overwhelmed. Our children have lost critical aspects of their social and developmental structures at the most important time in their lives. Time to play, to learn, to interact with friends, to grow from pre-school years forward have all been cut short. The results have been catastrophic and will remain so without the evidence-based therapy, telehealth options, and compassionate in-person treatment West Central provides.
Your tax-deductible donation will make mental health care accessible to our neighbors in need: children, adolescents, families, adults & young adults, elders, even our very youngest of children aged 0 - 5 years old.
West Central Behavioral Health is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. With clinics in Claremont, Lebanon, and Newport, we are one of the ten community behavioral health centers in New Hampshire. All gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law. We accept cash gifts, checks, credit card gifts, gifts of appreciated securities, corporate matching gifts, and grants from corporations and foundations. Please support our work by donating to West Central through this year's NH Gives campaign. Thank you!
