Every Student, Every Site

The Black Heritage Trail of New Hampshire is committed to ensuring that every student - regardless of geography or resources—has access to the rich and often untold stories of Black history in our state.

Through this year's NH Gives campaign, we are raising funds to provide free and subsidized educational tours for:

• Students across New Hampshire 
• After-school and youth programs 
• Schools in underserved and rural communities 
• Teachers seeking professional development and deeper historical understanding

Our guided tours take place in Portsmouth, Milford, Exeter, Dover, Warner, Hancock, and Kittery (ME), with specialty tours in Manchester and Concord that expand the narrative of Black history across the state.

These immersive experiences connect participants directly to the landscapes, stories, and legacies of Black individuals who shaped New Hampshire—transforming how history is understood, taught, and remembered.

Your support helps remove barriers to access by funding tour costs, educator participation, and transportation, ensuring that this history reaches those who need it most.

Goals & Giving Levels

First Steps – $50  

• Supports 5 Students to experience the Trail
• Thank you: Name listed on our website

Foot Prints – $100

• Enables 5 Teachers to participate in a professional learning tour
• Name listed on our website + digital commemorative card

Pathfinders – $300

• Sponsors a full class to take a tour
• Foot Prints level + Ona Judge Mural Unveiling commemorative item

Waymakers – $1,000+

• Funds a full tour and transportation, for a specially designed bus tour for a group.
• All above + name (or loved one’s name) inscribed on a digital donor plaque at the mural site
