More than 7.2% of NH residents experience food insecurity—the children playing in your local park, your elderly neighbors down the street—and with food prices up nearly 20% in the last five years, that sticker shock you feel at the grocery store hits harder for those already struggling. How do we address this complex, persistent problem and ensure a brighter future for our community?
The Capital Region Food Program (CRFP) is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing hunger in the 18 communities of the greater Concord area.
Proven track record
Since 1974, CRFP has distributed more than 3,600 tons of purchased and donated food—worth than $5,000,000—in our community through our year-round distribution project and annual holiday project. We’ve grown from supporting less than 100 families to more than 2,000 and our sustainable model ensures that, as long as there is a need, we’ll be here to meet it.
Partners with local business and nonprofits
CRFP works with local businesses and more than 30 agencies—churches, food pantries, schools, and social services organizations—to distribute food. We work in collaboration, cooperation, and coordination with local organizations solving local problems, distributing more than $220,000 worth of food annually to our partners and recipients. See our full list of partner agencies.
Your dollar goes farther with CRFP
We work tirelessly to secure more than $400,000 in underwriting and in-kind support to ensure 100% of your donation goes to purchasing food.
Adapting to changing times
Our work doesn’t end when the food is delivered. We constantly evaluate our programs and use a data-driven approach to ensure we’re meeting evolving needs. For example, our recently implemented voucher program helped us make an even bigger impact by reducing food waste and increasing flexibility for the families we serve. Read more in our press release.
Your support is vital to both the success of our program and the Greater Concord community. Please consider the CRFP for your NH Gives donation.
