Friends of Mascoma Foundation

Friends of Mascoma Foundation (FOM) encourages and supports educational enrichment and nutritional well-being for students and residents in the Mascoma Valley Regional School District towns of Canaan, Dorchester, Enfield, Grafton, and Orange New Hampshire.

What we do:

• Support students by awarding scholarships for Trade, 2-year, and 4-year degrees.
• Support educators with Mini-Grants for projects not paid for by the school budget.
• Fund and staff two Friends Feeding Friends public food pantries in Canaan, Enfield, and the pantry located in the high school. 

Who We Are

Friends of Mascoma Foundation (FOM) was formed by a group of community advocates committed to supporting the needs of the Mascoma Valley Regional School District (MVRSD). FOM provides support to the MVRSD on initiatives that foster educational development for our students.

Core areas that FOM focuses on are:
- Supporting students by funding supplemental educational opportunities and scholarships.
- Providing staff with "mini grants" enabling them to offer additional educational programs to their students.
- Enhancing and improving the reputation of the district by helping highlight our communities’ commitment to education.
- Supporting successful existing programs to include more students or enable more financial support to expand.
- Supporting our Friends Feeding Friends food pantries and meal initiatives.

Since 2016 we have awarded $161,000 in scholarships. We funded $41,471 in projects proposed by faculty in all four district schools. And in 2024 alone, we provided over 110,000 pounds of food to our pantries, as well as snacks and take-home boxes of food for student households during school breaks in November, December, February, and April.

We are grateful for all the members of the Mascoma Valley community and beyond who have supported Friends of Mascoma Foundation these past 10 years. We hope we can count on you again for NH Gives!

FOM is registered with the State of NH and is a recognized 501(c)(3) organization with the IRS and donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
