If you watched the video above you know how much your gift means to the individuals we serve. Here's something you may not know:
Future In Sight, located in Concord, New Hampshire, and founded in 1912 as the New
Hampshire Association for the Blind, is the only private nonprofit
organization in New Hampshire to supply a comprehensive range of statewide
services to children, adults, and elderly who are living with vision loss and
blindness. We have remained steadfast in our mission over the last 111
years: to advance the independence of persons who are blind and visually
impaired. Our Vision? We imagine an inclusive world where every person who is
blind and visually impaired lives with confidence and dignity. Through our holistic continuum of care, we help individuals to:
Our services are available to individuals who
have begun to lose – or have completely lost – their vision due to trauma,
disease, and the natural progression of age. Services and support are provided through Future In Sight to any individual living with a severe vision disability, regardless of their ability to pay. With this in mind, we rely on the generous contributions from donors like you to help ensure that every Granite Stater with vision loss has the training and tools they need to not only live but thrive.
Future In Sight, established as the New Hampshire Association for the Blind in 1912, is the only statewide nonprofit that provides specialized services and support that meet the range of needs that individuals of all ages and stages of vision loss experience at home, at school, and in the community – including via online learning and telehealth channels.
In highly visual world, having a visual impairment can have a far-reaching effect on all aspects of life. From a child’s early development, teens’ preparation for the workforce, adults’ career adaptations, to seniors’ safety, independence, and mental health, building connections, accessing training and support are all critical drivers of overall health and well-being. Both our Youth Services and Adult Services teams address the holistic needs of the person served through 1:1 training and group social/recreational activities, peer support and technology user groups. Increasingly, advances and affordability of technology in the marketplace enable greater accessibility for individuals who are blind or visually impaired; our staff integrates those tools into the education and training they provide. Together with the students’ and clients’ hard work and determination, we work to deliver services that yield lasting outcomes, so that they thrive during life’s changing circumstances — and we do not deny anyone services based on their financial capacity.
