Mary's Dogs Rescue & Adoption

Mary’s Dogs Rescue & Adoption is a compassionate, non-profit dog rescue based in Northwood, New Hampshire.

We are dedicated to saving dogs in need and placing them in loving homes throughout New England.

Through partnerships with rescue organizations in Arkansas and Mississippi, we save abandoned, neglected, stray, and homeless dogs.

We have an amazing community of dedicated volunteers, foster families, and forever pet parents who help us carry out our mission.

In addition to rescue and adoption, we serve as a resource for communities in New Hampshire. We provide education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spaying/neutering, positive behavior training, veterinary care and proper nutrition.

Mary's Dogs Rescue & Adoption is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charitable organization and gratefully accepts any and all donations. Your donation is tax exempt and will help continue our outreach to southern shelters and rescues, and sponsor animals that need special care.

Who We Are

Mary's Dogs Rescue & Adoption was founded in 2011 by Mary Doane. Since that start fifteen yrs ago, a lot has changed- our rescue has grown, we save nearly 300 dogs annually and have reorganized into a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. All of these are greatly needed changes but there are still things that have not changed- thousands of dogs in high kill shelters in the south continue to be euthanized each year, dogs and puppy litters are randomly dumped on the side of the road and general canine care and neglect continues.

Today, with the help of NHGives, we are reaching out to dog and animal lovers everywhere and asking for your assistance. We need to continue our efforts saving the lives that need saving today, but we also need to expand our mission to ensure all dogs are spayed and neutered. With your help, and with the support of our southern partners who are making steady and determined progress to increase the impact of outreach and education programs in their communities, we are making an impact, but it's simply not enough. One day, we hope to put an end to this overwhelming problem.
