Bringing community together through music!   Now in our 17th year -- and in our 5th year as a nonprofit -- the New Hampshire Fiddle Ensemble has become a dba called the New England Fiddle Ensemble due to our amazing growth in New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts & Vermont.  The New England Fiddle Ensemble brings together a dedicated group of over 170 amateur musicians with ages ranging from 5 - 86 (yes, that is not a mis-print).  Our community orchestra, featuring fiddles, guitars, banjos, mandolins, basses, harps, cellos and even some horns, is backed by professional musicians, delivering heartwarming and energetic performances.   We teach more than fiddle tunes.  We teach our orchestra how to learn the traditional way, by ear.  You won't see music stands on stage, just lots of people having fun making music together.  We also teach instrumentalists how to back up singers, how to improvise solos, and how to play many styles of music including Bluegrass, Country, Celtic, World Music, Cajun, Swing, Rock, Blues and more.  The result is a joyful community of people who continue to play together even after our performance season ends.  One parent wrote,

"As a teenager, being part of this community for our son is such fertile soil. Not only has it made possible learning in a musical multi-generational environment (which in and of itself offers so much insight), but it has also helped him find his people. As parents, watching this kind of connection sprout for our child is an ultimate hope come to fruition."
