YMCA of Greater Nashua

Each year the YMCA of Greater Nashua helps nearly 18,000 children and youth and 48,000 individuals create connections, build belonging, and achieve developmental, health and wellness goals. We create positive impact through our 200+ programs, which include but are not limited to: childcare, early education and remedial supports, sports & recreation, chronic disease prevention, group exercise, health screenings, and healthy living programs--the list goes on and on. 

But to make those programs accessible to everyone, despite financial challenges, we seek community investment through donations to our Y CARES Financial Assistance Program. Y CARES reduces costs so local parents can afford critical childcare and can work, children can receive remedial education at Y Academy, youths can attend summer camp, and individuals and families can find their community right here at the Y through a subsidized memberships. 

Last year alone, 1,113 unique families were able to participate in Y programs because of the Y CARES Financial Assistance Program. 

Why do We Y CARES?

Because every child deserves an opportunity to develop, every youth a chance to belong, and every adult a path toward lifelong wellness. And for those with physical health or mental health challenges, we'll be there every step of the way. 

Why should You Y CARES?

  Critical Childcare Assistance:  This year we will award more than $400K in scholarships to families that can't afford childcare. It's no secret that New Hampshire is experiencing a childcare affordability crisis, and as our states largest childcare provider we have a responsibility to do something. Put simply, your Y CARES investment helps us reduce the cost of childcare for families who need it. 


• 
  Educational Support and Enrichment: In addition to our many before and after-school programs, the YMCA partners with the Nashua School District to provide summer school at no cost to youths at risk of learning loss in reading and math. Your Y CARES investment helps kids who are falling behind catch up.


• 
  Enhancing Health and Well-being: Here at the Y, Youth Development, Social Responsibility, and Healthy Living are our focus areas, and we know that the earlier we start young people down a path to total wellness, the stronger and more resilient they will be. And in turn the stronger and more resilient our community will be.

OUR IMPACT The YMCA of Greater Nashua, as a cause-driven organization, emphasizes its four core values – caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility – in all elements of the organization. The need is urgent and growing, and we cannot meet it without you! The Y Responds to Emergencies: For 133 years, the Y adapts to community’s urgent needs, and is providing emergency child care for 130 children of working parents. The Y Closes the Achievement Gap: This year, many kids in our community could experience learning loss due to the impact of school closures. The Y will provide assistance so 600 children a day have a safe place to learn, grow, and thrive this summer. The Y Helps Our Neighbors: The Y reaches out to the most vulnerable populations to reduce food insecurity and senior isolation. The Y Strengthens Families: The Y provides financial assistance to ensure more than 37,000 individuals, families, and seniors have access to programs.
