Every day, older adults, people living with disabilities, and low-income residents in our community face a challenge many of us take for granted: getting where they need to go safely and reliably.
A ride to a medical appointment. Transportation to work. A trip to the grocery store. Access to critical services and social connection. Without dependable transportation, these everyday needs can quickly become overwhelming barriers.
That’s why the Greater Nashua Community Rides Pilot Program was created.
With support from community partners and donors, the program provides rides through local taxi services, Uber, Lyft, private ride providers, and public transit passes — ensuring residents can access the care, services, and opportunities they need to live independently and with dignity.
Already, the program has provided:
- 38 rides for community members in need
- 14 wheelchair-accessible rides for residents with mobility challenges
- Safe, reliable transportation options for vulnerable neighbors who might otherwise be isolated or unable to access essential services
This impact is made possible through partnerships with the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, St. Mary's Bank, Enterprise Bank, and the Souhegan Valley Transportation Collaborative — but the need continues to grow.
Your support through NH Gives can help ensure no one in our community is left behind because they lack transportation.
A gift today can help:
Provide rides to medical appointments and essential services
Expand wheelchair-accessible transportation options
Reduce isolation for older adults and individuals with disabilities
Increase access to employment, food, and community resources
Together, we can create a more connected, equitable, and caring community — one ride at a time.
Please support the Community Rides Pilot Program during NH Gives and help keep our neighbors moving forward.
