For many older adults in our community, transportation is far more than a ride — it is a lifeline. Every day, the Gibson Center for Senior Services helps seniors get to medical appointments, grocery stores, nutrition programs, social activities, and other essential services that allow them to remain healthy, independent, and connected.
Our transportation program serves older adults throughout northern Carroll County and surrounding communities, many of whom no longer drive or have limited access to reliable transportation. For some seniors, the Gibson Center bus is the only way they can access healthcare, obtain nutritious meals, participate in wellness activities, or simply maintain meaningful human connection.
Demand for transportation services continues to grow rapidly as the senior population increases. Unfortunately, our current vehicle fleet is aging, requiring more frequent maintenance and creating concerns about long-term reliability. To continue meeting the needs of local older adults safely and efficiently, the Gibson Center is seeking community support to purchase a new senior transportation bus.
A new bus will allow us to:
* Provide safer and more reliable transportation
* Increase participation in nutrition and wellness programs
* Help combat senior isolation and loneliness
* Ensure older adults can continue aging independently in their homes and communities
This vehicle will serve hundreds of seniors each year and will have a direct impact on their quality of life, health, and well-being. Every trip represents more than transportation — it represents dignity, independence, access to care, and connection to community.
We cannot do this alone. Community support is essential to making this project possible. Your contribution toward a new bus is an investment in the older adults who helped build and strengthen our community over generations.
Together, we can ensure that no senior is left isolated or unable to access the services they need. With your help, the Gibson Center can continue providing safe, dependable transportation that keeps older adults connected, engaged, and supported for years to come.
