Our Mission
Azimuth Check helps veterans and their families by fostering community, identity, and purpose through year-round outdoor programs that promote wellness, resilience, and connection.
The Need
Women veterans face unique challenges that are often under-served by traditional veteran programs. Azimuth Check empowers women veterans to heal and reconnect through guided hiking experiences in the White Mountains of New Hampshire fostering wellness and resilience, and lasting peer connection.
- Many experience Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS/PTSD) related to combat and service
- A significant number are survivors of Military Sexual Trauma (MST)
- Women are the fastest-growing veteran population, yet remain underrepresented in veteran-specific wellness programming
- Many report feeling more comfortable and supported in women-only environments
Over the past two decades of conflict, more women have served in combat and combat-support roles than ever before, bringing increased exposure to both physical and psychological trauma.
Our Solution
Azimuth Check provides structured, guided hiking experiences designed specifically for women veterans to connect with each other and enjoy the beautiful white mountains in an atmosphere of healing and camaraderie.
These hikes are more than outdoor recreation, they are a pathway to restoration and belonging; fostering community, identity, and purpose.
