The Gibson Center’s digital literacy efforts help older adults gain the skills and confidence needed to navigate an increasingly digital world. Many seniors face barriers to technology due to limited experience, lack of access, or discomfort using computers, smartphones, and online services. Without support, these challenges can lead to increased isolation and difficulty accessing important resources.

Through one-on-one assistance, workshops, and hands-on learning opportunities, the Gibson Center helps older adults learn how to use devices, access email, participate in telehealth appointments, connect with family and friends, safely navigate the internet, and utilize online banking, benefits, and community resources. These programs are designed to meet seniors at their own comfort level in a supportive and welcoming environment.

By improving digital skills, the Gibson Center helps close the digital divide that disproportionately affects older adults in rural communities. Increased digital access promotes independence, reduces social isolation, improves access to healthcare and information, and helps seniors remain engaged and connected to the world around them.
