For Pete's Sake

In March of this year Peter moved, into the Greengard Residence full time!  This is located just across the street from the day program he has participated in since 2018. He has a beautiful room of his own, with an attached bathroom they share a big kitchen, living room and backyard that are staffed by the loving and caring team at Greengard.

A typical day begins with the wake up call from the Residence staff, breakfast and chores, then he is picked up by his Day Program Direct Service Provider (DSP) who has been with him for several years.  They volunteer, grocery shop for meals, do yoga, cross-fit and enjoy all that the Portsmouth area has to offer with friends from the community, and from the Day Program and Residence.  At 4pm Peter transitions back to the Residence where there are afternoon activities, preparation for their family style dinners and then movies, walks and outings before bed.

With the help of the Greengard team, Peter is continuing to expand his independence, build friendships and have more ownership of his own choices and direction.  For his family, it give us the comfort of knowing he is safe, well supported and growing as he builds a life, and community on his own terms, just like his friends.
