Help us get Electrical Upgrades

Coming back to northern NH after 15 years away, something was strikingly absent: a gathering place! I was in search of a cozy space, with good wi-fi, perhaps a cup of coffee and a snack, somewhere to meet up with friends or to make new ones, to hear live music and see art, play games, let the kids run around outside, a good ‘ole neighborhood hangout. But after several years of searching, I haven’t found it.

So, I am prepared to create it!

And I have just the spot. 195ft, end to end- the second longest house in the state. Sprawling lawns, vacant barns, and dramatic chandeliers. I want to open the doors of Wentworth Brown House with open arms. But there’s some tender love and care that needs to happen along the way. Happening immediately is the functional upgrade to the outdoor electrical units. Live music on the lawn will be happening, and we’ve got big plans with some of our favorite performers (Renegade Orchestra! Rough & Tumble! The Clement Brothers! Reese Fulmer! & more!)

Installing and updating the electrical units will allow for outdoor sound systems for performances, a strand of string lights over the garden, and the versatility to turn the space into a home for events or festivals.

The other crucial element in a place to gather is the offering of coffee. We have already partnered with a talented local baker who sells her goods at the Wentworth Brown House on Sunday mornings, and I picture people coming to pick up their pastries, their favorite mug from home in hand. Or use one of ours! Sit, stay a while, soak in the floral patterns of the vintage wallpaper, play a card game in front of the fireplace. Feel cozy and welcome. The coffee machine is what is missing from this scenario, and I’ve got my eye on one.

Please help us drive this space forward so that we can continue the efforts of restoration and open the house to guests for all occasions on a regular basis, weather it be a wedding, live music, or a bougie Sunday brunch.
