When an agency invests in people with lived experience, not only does it change individual lives, it strengthens the fabric of our community.
I exited the federal prison system in June of 2025 apprehensive of my potential, and concerned for my realistic prospects in a harsh competitive climate. The photo above shows an organization staffed by peers with lived experience taking me into their fold only weeks after my long incarceration.
Peer support is like that, because we needed one another. The more I contribute to the health of our members and participants, the healthier and more fulfilled I have become; just as the more this agency and its staff has recognized and encouraged my own growth, the more motivated I become to help expand our reach to help the community of which we are a part.
This is where the community itself can get involved. Supporting our cause is in every way supporting your own, and pays direct dividends in the overall health, prosperity, and happiness of our tribe. Please contribute so we can keep this going.
