Reaching the Children Who Need Us Most

From the very beginning, Lantern Light Camps has been committed to serving youth from underserved communities — children for whom summer camp would simply be out of reach without your help. We partner with community organizations, schools, and social service agencies to identify young people who need the camp experience the most, ensuring that cost is never the reason a child misses out.

We are especially proud of our work with grandparents who are raising their grandchildren. Across our communities, thousands of grandparents have stepped forward with extraordinary love to care for grandchildren when parents cannot. These grandparents are heroes — and they are often exhausted, financially stretched, and quietly desperate for support. When they send a grandchild to Lantern Light Camps, they are trusting us with their most precious treasure. We do not take that trust lightly.

We have held grandmothers' hands as they watched their grandchildren attend camp for the first time, tears streaming down their cheeks. We have read the letters — that grandfathers have written to thank us for giving their grandchildren "a real childhood." These moments remind us, every single time, why we do this work.
