Each week approximately 30 volunteers gather in a warehouse in Nashua to pack bags full of food. Each bag ensures that a child who would otherwise be facing food insecurity at home has enough to eat. Bags contain a variety of easy-to-make nonperishable foods such as oatmeal, soup, pasta, rice, mac & cheese, peanut butter, tortillas, canned fruit & veggies, and canned meat. Food bags are then distributed to 27 local schools, community centers, and child care centers so that children can take a bag home for the weekend.
We work hard to budget efficiently, purchasing food in bulk and on sale. We also partner with the NH Food Bank to receive food at a significantly discounted cost. Since we are an entirely volunteer-run organization and our warehouse space is donated, we have very little overhead costs. Your donated dollars are prioritized for use to purchase food for kids.
